My name is Lukas Van Helsing
Hello! As I said in the subject… my name is Lukas Van Helsing. I’m what’s known as a Supernatural Assassin. I live in Echo Lake, Virginia. From an early age I was always going to be a Supernatural Assassin. My father and mother are one. My father’s father and mother were one. And my father’s father… you know what… you get the point.
When I was about 8 years old my father gave me my first sword. That was my weapon of choice. And I started practicing with it. I got pretty good if I do say so myself. When I was 15 I was allowed out on my first hunt. Most people at an early age hunt deer or bear or some other kind of woodland creature. I hunted vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and other supernatural creatures who were attacking Echo Lake citizens.
As part of the Supernatural Assassins code we are not allowed to just kill for the sake of killing. There might be some assassins who do that but anyone who gets caught gets banished from being an Assassin. The code is the only thing that separates us from instilling justice to just being a cold blooded killer.
If you’re a Supernatural Assassin you are part of the Assassin’s Council. Right now there are 5 families in Echo Lake that are a part of it. We have: The Van Helsings, The Harkers, The Gunns, The Everharts, and The Sparrows. However we do have an international division which have 10 more families.
In the Assassin’s Council right now my father King Van Helsing is in charge with Colt Harker helping him. Colt’s brother Roman (my uncle) is not ever happy with decisions that King makes. He challenges almost every decision. And he’s known to go to other Assassin’s and try to get them to get on his side. None of them ever do.
Being an Assassin doesn’t pay the bills since it’s not a real job that meant that I had to get a real job. I decided to join the Echo Lake police department just like my grandfather Orson Van Helsing. He had become the Chief of police before he was murdered by a vampire looking for revenge. We never found out who the vampire was. More on that story another time.
I’ve worked my way up to being a detective for now. Since i’m only 35 that is just fine with me. I went in to the police department at the same time that the love of my life Olivia Harker joined. We are both partners. Both in the police department and romantically. This was not something my father nor hers were really happy about. It didn’t matter though. You can’t help who you love.
Most of my days are sitting around waiting for something cool to happen. My father wasted another vampire the other night. That did not sit well with the Governor. Word from the grapevine is that that vampire gave a lot to the Governor’s campaign. Suffice to say the Governor and Mayor are talking about changing some things at the department. We’ll see how that goes. If it even goes through.
Anyway I’ve babbled on here long enough. I just felt like this was the best way to introduce myself. I’ll most likely come back with more stories happening around here but in the mean time I believe some of my friends and colleagues and other Supernatural Assassins will be doing their own entries as well.
